Amy Nauiokas, Co-Founder and Chair

Founder, Archer Gray, LLC

Amy Nauiokas is Founder and CEO of Archer Gray, LLC a media production, financing and venture investment company. She is a visionary executive, venture capitalist and recognized leader in leveraging technology to create new value and opportunities from inefficient markets and industries.

As a venture capitalist, Amy identifies and invests in early stage technology companies focused on the disruption of media and financial services. Her early investments, both personally and as a co-founder of the venture capital firm Anthemis Group SA, include Zoopla, the UK’s leading property research website, Climate Corporation, which was acquired by Monsanto in October 2013 for $930m, and Simple, which was acquired by BBVA in February 2014 for $117m.

In addition to her portfolio of venture investments, Amy’s production projects include the Broadway musical Once, winner of 8 Tony Awards, the 2014 Sundance Film Festival selection Little Accidents, the 2013 Sundance Film Festival selection The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete, and the forthcoming film Ten Thousands Saints, written and directed by Oscar-nominated writer/directors Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini.

Amy was previously CEO and Managing Director of Barclays Stockbrokers, the UK’s largest electronic retail broker with £10 billion assets under management. While at Barclays Stockbrokers, Amy successfully transformed the business from a share-dealing service into a multi-product, global financial services portal, growing revenue 40% in under two years.

She joined Barclays Group in 2004 where, as Head of Electronic Sales & Trading at the Investment Bank, she was credited for driving significant expansion and adoption of the firm’s electronic products and markets to institutional clients globally.

Before joining Barclays, Amy was Senior Managing Director and Partner at Cantor Fitzgerald. At Cantor, Amy was part of the management team responsible for driving Cantor’s brokerage business online. In 1999, she helped lead the successful IPO of Cantor’s online business eSpeed, Inc., which was later sold to NASDAQ for $750m. Amy also played a critical role in the company’s rebuilding efforts after September 11th, serving as Head of Investor Relations, Global Marketing, Business Development and Human Resources for the firm.

Amy is a member of the New Markets Women’s Advisory Board at Credit Suisse, a group dedicated to promoting a progressive vision of the role of banking and wealth creation in society; a Board Observer for SeedInvest, the leading equity-based crowdfunding platform; a Board Member of CohesiveFT, a leader in enterprise cloud networking for financial services companies; and a Venture Partner and Investment Committee member of Anthemis Group SA, the financial technology venture capital firm she co-founded.

In 2010 Amy Co-Founded the Bubble Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization partnering with New York City charter schools to provide at risk children with access to activities and food that help him or her to live a healthy life. Amy also serves as the International Board Chair of Make-A-Wish®, and is a member of the Dickinson College Board of Trustees.

Amy received her Master’s in International Business from Columbia University, where she has also served as an Adjunct Professor in the business school, and received her BA in International Studies from Dickinson College in 1994. In 2007 and 2008 she was named one of the Financial News’ Top 100 Rising Stars, Forbes’ 40 Under Forty: Ones to Watch and Global Finance’s Top 20 Women in Wealth Management.


James Connolly, Co-Founder

Artist, Private Chef

James Connolly is an Artist and Chef in New York City. After graduating from The School of Visual Arts with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, James Connolly has worked as a realist painter, draftsman and sculptor, showing in galleries across the US and in Europe. While living in England from 2006-2008, he developed a passion for food, food systems and nutrition, and the European culture of the meal as an expression of community. He’s trained as a chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in England and The French Culinary Institute in New York City. In addition to being trained in food preparation, he has focused his studies on the nutritional aspects of food, issues of obesity and our historical and current model of food systems. In early 2010, James co-founded Bubble to help educate children and their families about nutrition and fitness.


Jeremy Baksht, Vice Chair

Jeremy Baksht is the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Qineqt, The World’s Most Intelligent Financial Data Core for Asset Management. Jeremy has 16 years of investment banking, technology, and sales experience including key roles at four Fintech platforms in intelligent data search, collaborative data, deal sharing and institutional connections: Qineqt, Estimize, ACE Portal, Trusted Insight

Prior to FinTech, Jeremy learned the Wall Street sell-side business executing M&A, LBOs, IPOs, and credit deals as a Vice President with global industrials coverage at Citigroup and an Associate at JPMorgan. He also has a deep understanding of technology from his role as a business process consultant at Andersen Consulting where he worked on billing systems, CRM, call centers and got project management, business requirements gathering, and coding skills.

Jeremy has an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School and a BS from the University of Texas in Mechanical Engineering.

 
Nelson Chu, Secretary

Founder & CEO, Tritan Collective

Nelson is the founder and CEO of Tritan Collective, a preeminent New York strategy consulting firm, and a partner at Parametric, a China-based family office. His expertise in product innovation has been instrumental in creating new revenue opportunities and capturing new markets for his clients in the Fortune 500. His dual responsibilities as an advisor and an investor for early stage startups enables him to play an integral and continuous role in their growth and success. To date, his clients and portfolio of investments have gone on to raise over $200M in venture capital financing.

He began his career in the Business Intelligence and Portfolio Management divisions at Merrill Lynch, Bank of America and Blackrock and he holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Rutgers University. His philanthropic efforts have consistently been focused on youth and wellness all around the world.


Clara Chung

Clara Chung is an entrepreneurial general manager and marketer who is passionate about building brands and experiences that people love. She is a multi- faceted strategic executive with experience leading teams at start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

Her most recent position was at Coupang, the world’s fastest growing e-Commerce company and South Korea’s answer to Amazon. Prior to that, she was on the executive leadership team for several business units at American Express.

Ms. Chung also worked in Silicon Valley for almost a decade at companies like eBay and PayPal, where her responsibilities included growing key U.S. categories and leading consumer marketing strategy and programs. She began her career in Equity Research covering Enterprise Software at Goldman Sachs.

She has an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Business-Economics with a minor in Accounting from UCLA.

Her passion for food and travel led her to roam the world for a year and obtain a degree in French Cuisine at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. She also serves on the Benefit Committee for Sejong Soloists, a string chamber ensemble, and supports a variety of nonprofits focused on Asian-American community. She currently lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.


Audrey Del Grosso

Marketing and Branding Professional

Audrey Del Grosso is a seasoned marketer with over 25 years of experience in branding, advertising and product management. Audrey was most recently a Senior Vice President and Marketing Director at JP Morgan Chase, and prior to that worked for New York & Co., Bear Stearns and J. Walter Thompson.


Harry Harrison

Managing Director, Barclays

Harry Harrison is a Managing Director and Head of Rates Trading at Barclays Capital, based in New York. Mr. Harrison joined Barclays in 1989 as a graduate trainee. His responsibilities have included trading and managing Sterling swaps and options, gilts, cross currency swaps, medium-term foreign exchange, strategic trading and securitization derivatives. In 2003, Mr. Harrison transferred from London to New York to manage the Global US Dollar Fixed Income Trading business. He took on additional responsibility for European Linear and Inflation Trading in October 2007. He was appointed Head of Rates Trading in October 2008. Mr. Harrison has a BSc (Hons) in Economics from Warwick and an MPhil in Finance from Jesus College, Cambridge.


Nicole Esposito

Founder, White Spark
Nicole Esposito is a communications expert with over 17 years experience creating recognizable global brands in the entertainment, fashion and hospitality industries.

Esposito helmed the growth of Full Picture into a nationally awarded Public Relations and Marketing Agency where she was instrumental in creating campaigns for prestigious brands including Victoria’s Secret, Victoria’s Secret Pink, vitaminwater, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Frederic Fekkai, Revlon, Ian Schrager Hotels, Starr Restaurants and Living Proof, among countless others.

Esposito’s leadership, creativity, management skills and extensive contacts fostered loyalty among her employees and pride in their collective results.

At White Spark she brings her experience and skills to create strategic alignments and impactful communication strategies to build brands.


Karma Lande, Treasurer

Karma Lande has spent more than 15 years in financial assurance, tax and deal advisory, with a focus on cross-border M&A in the telecommunications sector. Most recently with Bell Canada Enterprises and prior with KPMG, she has lived and worked abroad for over a decade in Brazil and the United Kingdom. Karma earned her CPA from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and her Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, Canada. Karma resides in NYC with her husband and daughter. Her passion for design led her to earn a degree from Parsons in Interior Design, which she practices on a freelance basis. She also serves as Treasurer on the Executive Board of Avenues, The World School’s Parents Association. She is an avid traveller and has great enthusiasm for nutrition, health and wellness.

Jessica Nauiokas

Principal and Founder, Mott Haven Academy Charter School

Jessica is the founding principal of Mott Haven Academy Charter School, with nearly two decades of urban teaching and leadership experience. Jessica’s qualifications include charter school planning, urban school leadership and operations, and curriculum development. Before serving as the Director of School Development for the NYC Center for Charter School Excellence, Jessica completed the New Leaders for New Schools fellowship where she was a member of the leadership team at a small school in Harlem. She was also selected to attend the KIPP Leadership Pathways Program where she joined charter school founders from across the country while she was planning Haven Academy.

Jessica is also an Adjunct Professor of Education and teachers graduate level courses preparing new teachers for entry into the classroom. She began her career in education as a Teach for America corps member in Washington DC, where she was a first grade teacher and then became a reading specialist. Jessica has a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Human Development and Psychology in addition to a BA in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire. She also holds NY State certification as a School District Administrator.


Lara Ross

Senior Vice President of Development, Beachbody

Lara Ross is a native New Yorker with a passion and career in fitness and weight loss. Lara has spent the last fifteen years in product development and production of fitness media, nutrition and weight loss programs, and fitness infomercials for Beachbody (beachbody.com).  Lara has created popular fitness brands that include Hip Hop Abs, Turbo Jam Insanity, T25, P90X, T25, and CIZE, working with trainers Shaun T, Tony Horton, Leandro Carvalho, and others. She is a graduate of New York University. 


Laurie Silverman

Associate Broker, Halstead Property

Laurie Silverman, a native of Miami, Florida, has lived in New York City for the past fourteen years. During this time, she has risen to be one of the top producers at Halstead Property, the prominent real estate brokerage. Laurie has received numerous company awards for her high-end sales. Her sales have been featured in the New York Times, Avenue Magazine, the Wall Street Journal and the Real Deal.

Laurie graduated from Boston University in 1991 with a major in Psychology. She also earned her Masters in Speech Pathology in 1995 from Nova Southeastern University. After working in the Miami Dade and New York City school systems as a speech language pathologist, she made a career change to the more dynamic field of real estate. This career has enabled her to establish extensive connections and a dynamic group of friends. Laurie is married to Dr. Carlos Hleap, a gynecological surgeon, who practices in Forest Hills.

She is an avid art collector, frequently attending art shows and openings. In addition to her passion for art, Laurie is an exercise and nutrition enthusiast. In her spare time, you will often finding her out running, taking a spin class or practicing yoga.


Pamela Weldon

Pamela has spent the past 14 years raising capital for hedge funds. She helped build the Capital Introductions team at Bank of America in 2000 and moved to Deutsche Bank in 2002 to help them launch their Capital Introductions Group. She also served as a Director in the CDO Group at Deutsche Bank where she spent several years raising capital for hybrid CDO/hedge fund clients. Most recently she raised capital at Ares Capital. She lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters. Pamela is an elected parent representative on the Executive Committee of Avenues, The World School. She earned her undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of Georgia. She is enthusiastic about wellness, health, people, travel and education.

Bubble Team

Lizzie Redman, Executive Director

Lizzie joined the Bubble Foundation from Teach For America, where she worked on national fundraising and growth strategy across the organization’s 50 regional sites. Prior to Teach For America, Lizzie worked as a strategy and operations consultant at Deloitte Consulting, where she consulted on strategic planning, change management, customer insights, and communications strategy for several federal government agencies. As Executive Director at Bubble, Lizzie led the expansion of the organization’s wellness curriculum, built a team and systems to bring Bubble to scale, and increased Bubble’s impact to reach more kids and families in underserved New York City communities.

Lizzie studied history and international business at the University of Texas at Austin. Trained as a small child on the secrets to a good gumbo in her grandmother’s New Orleans kitchen, Lizzie is passionate about providing all children with food access and education. When not in Bubble’s schools, she can often be found testing new recipes or doing cooking demos at local farmers markets. Lizzie has contributed to Huffington Post and writes about the humanity of food at Eating Anthology. She is also on the Board of Advisors of CocoaCompassion, a social enterprise that fosters the growth and consumption of responsible chocolate.

Emily Hinkle RD, Program Manager

Emily joined Bubble shortly after completing her Dietetic Internship at Cornell University.  At her internship she gained first hand experience working for wellness-based programs.  Prior to the internship, she completed a dual Bachelors degree at the University of Maine in Human Nutrition and Biology.  Emily dedicated much of her free time to volunteering, which included nutrition education classes at local elementary schools and cooking classes for staff and faculty of her university.  Each summer, Emily worked at a preschool that provided her with great insight into child education.  In addition to her background in nutrition, Emily is a strong advocate for sustainable agriculture and home and community gardening.  Growing up in Maine has instilled an appreciation for the environment and the importance of supporting local farms.  When Emily is not working with Bubble, you can find her in the woods hiking, camping, and skiing, or in the theater, pursuing her passion for improvisation acting.

Ryann Dear, Education Coordinator

Ryann first joined Bubble as a FoodCorps Service Member to connect kids to real food and help them grow up healthy. Having grown up in a home where access to fresh fruits and vegetables was the norm, her true appreciation for seed-to-table living came from the family’s organic farm in the Pacific Northwest where she dug in the dirt as a farmhand, learning about local, sustainable agriculture and the community it fosters firsthand. She furthered her passion for community-building when she moved to Guatemala to develop evaluation tools and conduct surveys to help local community radio stations better connect with their Indigenous listeners. From a young age, Ryann has loved working with kids. In Iowa and in Boston, she helped children improve their confidence and sense of belonging through theater production and creative musical performance work. When not teaching Bubble classes, Ryann can be found outside hiking a trail or biking the streets of Brooklyn; or inside baking bread or cookies for her friends and family. Ryann studied anthropology and archaeology at Boston University. 

Gina Darnaud, Program Coordinator

Gina joined the Bubble team as a Program Coordinator shortly after completing an internship with Bubble in 2015. As a strong believer that change begins with a simple conversation or small act of compassion, Gina has worked with various social justice organizations that focus on community building. As a previous intern for Global Citizen, she created content that explored different global topics like food and hunger, education, and the environment. At Bubble, Gina is dedicated to furthering food justice, school nutrition, and community health close to home. Gina graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services. Outside the Bubble classroom and away from the desk, Gina enjoys trying wacky recipes, going on adventures, spending time at dog parks, and reading more books than she can handle. 

Nicole Cardish, FoodCorps Service Member

Nicole joins Bubble as our FoodCorps Service Member for the 2016/2017 school year, where she will work with schools in Harlem and the Bronx. Her passion for agriculture and community outreach was influenced by growing up in the Hudson Valley surrounded by rolling hills of farmland and her involvement in 4-H from a young age. In 2013 she graduated from Green Mountain College with bachelor degrees in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production and Environmental Studies. Nicole’s life goal is to help children develop beautiful relationships with their food and how it is grown in order to promote lifelong healthy lifestyles. Most recently, Nicole worked as K-2 Garden Educator in Red Hook, NY where she reconfirmed her passion for this work. She is excited to continue doing meaningful work this year with FoodCorps and Bubble in New York City.
